Jiang De started the match with the kick off. When Lucas Gilchrist came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Głodne Ghule fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Gilchrist couldn't finish the play. Marek Czech's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Fiúza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Lucas Gilchrist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Fiúza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Gilchrist in the 21st minute of play. Głodne Ghule's Peter-Stefan Schmeichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jiang De in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Głodne Ghule's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Augustin Panaiteanu was slow to take the kick. During this time Gremio Viana's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the Gremio Viana defense, Marek Czech kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Fiúza. The Gremio Viana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Fiúza should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's Jiang De sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter-Stefan Schmeichel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Czech came free, but Samuel Fiúza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Głodne Ghule were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marek Czech to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Jiang De shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter-Stefan Schmeichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Carlos Luna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johannes Olofsson got free with Samuel Fiúza in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute, Przemyslaw Lanczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samuel Fiúza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fridtjof Ferstad in the 81st minute of play. After 90 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Crognale. 91 minutes into the match, Fridtjof Ferstad had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Fiúza. Gremio Viana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fridtjof Ferstad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Głodne Ghule walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
