The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the game, Ulan Bator Football Club's Toon Teunens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tristan Arioli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattheo Smeulders in the 15th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Gene Emmenegger hit a great ball. When Remo Pürro fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Fribourg's protests and gave Remo Pürro a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toon Teunens in the 20th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kieth Hacke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ulan Bator Football Club's Toon Teunens got a free kick in the 24th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florian Plouffe got free with Ball Packert in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique Fribourg's zone, Jan-Pieter Van Cauwenbergh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tristan Arioli came out of the goal and Jan-Pieter Van Cauwenbergh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olympique Fribourg's Tristan Arioli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toon Teunens in the 34th minute of play. Kieth Hacke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristan Arioli having to interfere. Ball Packert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Steiner in the 39th minute of the match. Ulan Bator Football Club's Ball Packert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Ulan Bator Football Club from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute Olympique Fribourg were awarded a corner. Daniel Schroeder went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Olympique Fribourg's Daniel Schroeder to fire away a dangerous shot which Ball Packert despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Kieth Hacke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristan Arioli having to interfere. After the first half Ulan Bator Football Club were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Remo Pürro hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute of the match, Toon Teunens tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tristan Arioli saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 74th match minute, Ulan Bator Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willy Smidts to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Daniel Schroeder hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Kieth Hacke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tristan Arioli. Olympique Fribourg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kieth Hacke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Toon Teunens spun around in front of the goal 84 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Olympique Fribourg's goal. Ulan Bator Football Club made a substitution. Ros Vos de Vos replaced Toon Teunens. In the 89th minute of the match, Mattheo Smeulders got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tristan Arioli was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mattheo Smeulders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute, Jarno Depelsmaker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
