Fabio Millrick's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dušan Ančic read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, William Dunning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Millrick got free with Dušan Ančic in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Club Atlético de Newell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Garcilaso Acosta kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Simon Sundling might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robby Tuttle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Simon Sundling ran back to his position shaking his head. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Sebastian Percival made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, The Wolfpack™'s Fabio Millrick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dušan Ančic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. During this time Club Atlético de Newell's players had a chance to rest. 58 minutes into the game, Sebastian Percival recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Robby Tuttle. Dušan Ančic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Millrick, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Percival in the 80th minute of play forced The Wolfpack™'s goalkeeper Robby Tuttle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fabio Millrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, The Wolfpack™'s goal looked a bit too open when Spike Foley came free, but Robby Tuttle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The The Wolfpack™ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Atlético de Newell were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
