During this time Atlético Bucaramanga's players had a chance to rest. 15 minutes into the match, Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Xacintu Ribeiro came free, but Romeo Gaxan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xacintu Ribeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeo Gaxan having to make a save. 18 minutes into the match, Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Xacintu Ribeiro came free, but Romeo Gaxan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeo Gaxan made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Xacintu Ribeiro sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xacintu Ribeiro in the 33rd minute of play forced Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's goalkeeper Romeo Gaxan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xacintu Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute, Bernd Rechmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

A collision led to Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Atarratze Salantes hit a great ball. The supporters of Atlético Bucaramanga booed when Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position.
