In the 9thth minute of the game Ömer Halisdemir who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but O D M I E Ń C Y ™'s Marioara Matei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, O D M I E Ń C Y ™'s goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Klawke came free, but Marioara Matei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind O D M I E Ń C Y ™'s goalkeeper Marioara Matei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Zawisza Bydgoszcz got a freekick which was hit by Mack Oreilly. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Esposito got free with Kajetan Dec in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eric Esposito might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kajetan Dec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eric Esposito ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Kajetan Dec got control of the ball when Eric Esposito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marioara Matei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ömer Halisdemir in the 34th minute of the match. If Eric Esposito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Åke Lindström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Esposito to strike the kick off in the second half. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Kajetan Dec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Esposito in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ömer Halisdemir got free with Marioara Matei in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Lucjan Bochinski managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabio Cannavaro in the 61 minute of the game. In the 63rd minute, Lucjan Bochinski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kajetan Dec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kain Abel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the game, O D M I E Ń C Y ™'s Eric Esposito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kajetan Dec made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Klawke in the 71st minute of play forced O D M I E Ń C Y ™'s goalkeeper Marioara Matei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Zawisza Bydgoszcz booed when O D M I E Ń C Y ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaká MacAlister didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ömer Halisdemir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ömer Halisdemir got free with Marioara Matei in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ömer Halisdemir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
