Filiph Biörling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 4th minute, Michael Ahlbeck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Folke Bure took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pipis Karapatakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claes Snow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jardel Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anders Byström in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pipis Karapatakis in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Folke Bure saved North Pole Kickers from getting behind. In the 28th minute Pipis Karapatakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Bure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the game Andréas Åkerman made a throw-in which Michael Ahlbeck played forward. North Pole Kickers's Folke Bure played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by North Pole Kickers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alberto Estevon was slow to take the kick. During this time Grêmio FBPA's players had a chance to rest. Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Snow in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Grêmio FBPA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pipis Karapatakis was the one to do the kick off. Humberto Locaio kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Filiph Biörling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Folke Bure tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pipis Karapatakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 56 minutes into the match, North Pole Kickers's goalkeeper Folke Bure had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipis Karapatakis. With an all-out effort, Grêmio FBPA's Folke Bure threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Filiph Biörling, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Andréas Åkerman made in the 62nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Michael Ahlbeck immediately put the ball in play. In the 64thth minute of the game Pipis Karapatakis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but North Pole Kickers's Folke Bure was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pipis Karapatakis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folke Bure having to make a save. Folke Bure took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pipis Karapatakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pipis Karapatakis got free with Folke Bure in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. When Filiph Biörling came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filiph Biörling couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Valdemar Tomasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jardel Sanches came out of the goal and Valdemar Tomasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. After 87 played minutes Pipis Karapatakis rounded North Pole Kickers's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Pipis Karapatakis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Folke Bure. That made the score 0-5 in the 95 minute of play.
