The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nilton Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Linus Ahlquist having to interfere. Aloísio Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Carlsson in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute Nilton Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Linus Ahlquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Carlsson in the 9th minute of play. Jan-Erik Carlsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloísio Abreu having to make a save. Aloísio Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan-Erik Carlsson's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute of the match, Jan-Erik Carlsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aloísio Abreu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aloísio Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Carlsson in the 20th minute of play. If Nilton Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Mats Ljusberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aloísio Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 minutes Matadores FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Björn Andberg who took care of the corner kick. Linus Ahlquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Fontes in the 37th minute of play. Edvin Lindholm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Aloísio Abreu made a huge save. After having played for 42 minutes, Mats Ljusberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Svartvallstjärnens IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mats Ljusberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aloísio Abreu was a little too slow when Mats Ljusberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 3-0.

The wind increased when Nilton Fontes made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Mats Ljusberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aloísio Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvin Lindholm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aloísio Abreu having to interfere. Aloísio Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Ljusberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute of the match, Rogério Carneiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Linus Ahlquist saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 61 minutes into the game, Rogério Carneiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Linus Ahlquist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jan-Erik Carlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Ljusberg in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Matadores FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mats Ljusberg came free, but Aloísio Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aloísio Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Erik Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Svartvallstjärnens IF getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tomas Kvalfält hit a great ball. Svartvallstjärnens IF's Kevin Karlberg was substituted for Jan-Erik Carlsson. After 76 played minutes Svartvallstjärnens IF got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Kvalfält. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Karlberg in the 83rd minute of play forced Matadores FC's goalkeeper Aloísio Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aloísio Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Karlberg in the 84th minute of the match. Aloísio Abreu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kevin Karlberg went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Aloísio Abreu came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Svartvallstjärnens IF's Kevin Karlberg. But to his dismay, Kevin Karlberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Aloísio Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Karlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Aloísio Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Kvalfält, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matadores FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
