In the 7th minute, Tadeo Eneas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iker Hidalgo. The goal made the score 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramiro Isusko got free with Iker Hidalgo in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the match, Ramiro Isusko dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Iker Hidalgo, 2-0. Nando Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Gaúcho in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nery Pumpido saved Tabossi from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Isusko in the 26th minute of play forced Velho Barreiro FC's goalkeeper Iker Hidalgo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panagiotis Stamatas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Nery Pumpido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonardo Gaúcho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iker Hidalgo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Isusko in the 52nd minute of play. Velho Barreiro FC were furious when Milcho Rakov was red carded, 62 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 62nd minute, one of Velho Barreiro FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Velho Barreiro FC. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Tabossi. Benedicto Lauro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Iker Hidalgo. 3-0. In the 69th minute Ramiro Isusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Hidalgo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
