In the 21st minute, Wim Oldenborger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nae Pavel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maju Gigante in the 24th minute of play forced U Craiova's goalkeeper Nae Pavel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Oldenborger came free, but Nae Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Maju Gigante made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of U Craiova booed when Boca Gregorian Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Oldenborger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denis Milcoveanu hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Boca Gregorian Juniors's Artemio Domenech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Silişteanu in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Cees Dirks in the 61st minute of play forced U Craiova's goalkeeper Nae Pavel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U Craiova's Nae Pavel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Oldenborger in the 62nd minute of play. Nae Pavel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans-Cees Dirks, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maju Gigante in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nae Pavel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Boca Gregorian Juniors's Wilfried Westerhof got a free kick in the 70th minute. Sebastian Fenici hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Ştefan Stârcea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerard Daamen in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nae Pavel saved U Craiova from getting behind. In the 80th minute Gerard Daamen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nae Pavel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the U Craiova defense, Wim Oldenborger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nae Pavel. The U Craiova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nae Pavel should have stopped the shot. U Craiova's Narcis Silişteanu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nae Pavel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerard Daamen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Hans-Cees Dirks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nae Pavel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Boca Gregorian Juniors fully deserved thier win.
