After 14 minutes of play, Smash FC's Delmiro Damario made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Löv was left in no man's land by his defense there! Evert Skytt kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claude Caniggia in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Löv saved Cosmopolitan FC from getting behind. Frans Ålberg hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Cosmopolitan FC's Evert Skytt got a free kick in the 25th minute. Simon Padro hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 34th match minute, Cosmopolitan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johannes Åström to maneuver through the defense. Tim Löv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Caniggia in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Cosmopolitan FC defense, Claude Caniggia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tim Löv. The Cosmopolitan FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tim Löv should have stopped the shot. Adam Rosendahl's late challenge caught a Smash FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Rosendahl helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Cosmopolitan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Rosendahl to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Smash FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Allan Hedlund made a kick off. The supporters of Smash FC booed when Cosmopolitan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Frisck didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match, Claude Caniggia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tim Löv saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tim Löv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Laffitte in the 56th minute of play. Cosmopolitan FC's Tim Löv proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Cosmopolitan FC from getting a goal against them. After 58 minutes, Olof Wallin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cosmopolitan FC and the Smash FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th minute, one of Smash FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Smash FC. Tim Löv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Laffitte in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cosmopolitan FC's Jonathan Frisck got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Delmiro Damario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cosmopolitan FC's zone, Delmiro Damario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Löv came out of the goal and Delmiro Damario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Delmiro Damario scored 1-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tim Löv, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the game, Evert Skytt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cosmopolitan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smash FC the free kick. A collision led to Cosmopolitan FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Evert Skytt hit a great ball. Smash FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
