Stevie Méthot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Berger having to interfere. If Víktor Muli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aston Villa F.C's Duda Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Muli in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 44th minute of play forced Flodde CFC's goalkeeper Börje Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anthon Nordin to make the kick off. Duda Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthon Nordin in the 52nd minute. If Diogo Calado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The corner led Aston Villa F.C's Mário Corrêa to fire away a dangerous shot which Börje Holmgren despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Diogo Calado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Börje Holmgren. Flodde CFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diogo Calado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Flodde CFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stevie Méthot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duda Berger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aston Villa F.C's Duda Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Aston Villa F.C from getting a goal against them. Flodde CFC were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Aston Villa F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jan Ålberg took the corner. The Aston Villa F.C manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Flodde CFC to win.
