Atomy de Rondônia's Artur Romanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avram Barascu in the 7th minute of play. Artur Romanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigore Şoiman in the 9th minute of the match. Ştefan Şimoc hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute Grigore Şoiman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Romanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grigore Şoiman in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Romanov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Balavanis's goalkeeper Sorin Bobocea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cirilo Constancio. Cristiano Antunes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Sorin Bobocea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cirilo Constancio in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Alf Tanner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Romanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute Balavanis were awarded a corner. Ionică Cucu went to the cornerflag to take it. Artur Romanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grigore Şoiman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigore Şoiman in the 31st minute of play forced Atomy de Rondônia's goalkeeper Artur Romanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Tanner in the 40th minute of play forced Atomy de Rondônia's goalkeeper Artur Romanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Balavanis were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cirilo Constancio made the kick off in the second half. Sorin Bobocea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svetlan Delchev in the 54th minute of play. After 55 played minutes Atomy de Rondônia got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Bastos. Avram Barascu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur Romanov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grigore Şoiman in the 61st minute. After some careless play in the Atomy de Rondônia defense, Ferdinand Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Artur Romanov. The Atomy de Rondônia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artur Romanov should have stopped the shot. Balavanis's Gheorghe Basarab was substituted for Ferdinand Costa. Sorin Bobocea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Constancio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sorin Bobocea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cirilo Constancio, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Cirilo Constancio took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sorin Bobocea. Sorin Bobocea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 88th minute Alf Tanner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Romanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 91 minutes, Codrin Donciu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balavanis and the Atomy de Rondônia players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Atomy de Rondônia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Balavanis were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
