An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukasz Rukszcz in the 31st minute of play forced Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalkeeper Emil Gabor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fan Xi Hong was a little too slow when Eric Păvăloae got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-1. Emil Gabor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lukasz Rukszcz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristoforo Volpe in the 45th minute of play forced Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalkeeper Emil Gabor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Squadra de Pippe's Stanislovas Skripkauskas was substituted for Cristoforo Volpe. The wind increased when Eric Păvăloae made the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Antonio Cabrini in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ninjas in Pyjamas's Mihnea Iosub. If Eric Păvăloae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Ninjas in Pyjamas players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
