CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Jacobo Romo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE from getting a goal against them. Jacobo Romo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clodoveo Ponce in the 32nd minute. Jacobo Romo made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Clodoveo Ponce sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute, Ovando Vera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Romo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jacobo Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roch Chowaniec in the 43rd minute of play. With 47 minutes on the clock, Bartosz Wielowiejski commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of MKS Pogoń Szczecin:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE:s goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 55th minute, Jardel Cabezon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MKS Pogoń Szczecin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Jardel Cabezon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Jacobo Romo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roch Chowaniec in the 69th minute of play. Jacobo Romo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomir Bazan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Romo came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Radomir Bazan. But to his dismay, Radomir Bazan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Jacobo Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Cabezon, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Aleksander Majewski made a great header on MKS Pogoń Szczecin's corner, it was just that CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Jacobo Romo managed to reach the ball for a save. After 80 played minutes MKS Pogoń Szczecin got a freekick which was hit by Clodoveo Ponce. Jacobo Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Cabezon in the 83rd minute of play. Albino Oso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Wiktor Dudkowski made a huge save. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Juan Pablo Sorin the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Juan Pablo Sorin had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. There was no doubt that MKS Pogoń Szczecin were the better team. MKS Pogoń Szczecin's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
