In the 43rd minute of the match, Ladislao Bartoleme tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Weather Piedrahita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After recieving a nice pass, Atletico Maturrango's Hitzeder Serans tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Orlando Mena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Weather Piedrahita was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jabones Tocadores's Romulo Montrelle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Herbella in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jabones Tocadores's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hitzeder Serans was slow to take the kick. During this time Atletico Maturrango's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Atletico Maturrango's Quintin Ageitos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When Florencio Herbella, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 54 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Romulo Montrelle was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Atletico Maturrango's Florencio Herbella dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Romulo Montrelle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florencio Herbella in the 65th minute. Jabones Tocadores made a substitution. Rigoberto Eliazar replaced Everardo Lluciano. Atletico Maturrango made a substitution. Orlin Hinojosa replaced Lucas Sardaneta. The supporters of Jabones Tocadores booed when Atletico Maturrango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristobal Tabby didn't get a good kick on the ball.
