In the 68th minute, Diego Maradona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Wayne Rooney had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lisandro Festas. SLB TELHA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wayne Rooney was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After taking down the ball on Sporting de Gijón's corner Saturnino Curcio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lisandro Festas quite easily take care of the ball. Lisandro Festas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Bilintx, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
