Ignatius Casasola came out of the goal and Niclas Füllkrug tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tom Hermansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ignatius Casasola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Garanhão do SUL were awarded a corner. Salvador Lousada went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Garanhão do SUL's Torcato Rebocho getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Tom Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 13th minute Tom Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignatius Casasola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tom Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ignatius Casasola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 21 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Teodosio Iigo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Costa. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Valerio during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manuel Valerio kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. A hard shot by Salvador Lousada from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Teodosio Iigo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ignatius Casasola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Hermansson in the 25th minute of play. Ignatius Casasola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the AZURDUY F.C. defense, Torcato Rebocho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodosio Iigo. The AZURDUY F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodosio Iigo should have stopped the shot. When Tom Hermansson came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the AZURDUY F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Hermansson couldn't finish the play. Ignatius Casasola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Hermansson came free, but Ignatius Casasola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tom Hermansson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Teodosio Iigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio Teves in the 44th minute of the match. After having played for 47 minutes, Niclas Füllkrug managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AZURDUY F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Niclas Füllkrug was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

56 minutes into the game, AZURDUY F.C.'s Niclas Füllkrug nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ignatius Casasola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Garanhão do SUL's Cassiano Valente was substituted for Torcato Rebocho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Hermansson in the 63rd minute of play forced Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper Ignatius Casasola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s Tom Hermansson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ignatius Casasola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67th minute of the match AZURDUY F.C. got a corner. Garanhão do SUL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Károly Bogdán ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Aloísio Garcez got a free kick in the 69th minute. Garanhão do SUL's Ignatius Casasola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niclas Füllkrug in the 71st minute of play. If Tom Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ignatius Casasola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tom Hermansson in the 78th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Ignatius Casasola successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tom Hermansson might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ignatius Casasola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tom Hermansson ran back to his position shaking his head. Teodosio Iigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Roriz in the 85th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Petr Vosáhlo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ignatius Casasola, 1-2. If Tom Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AZURDUY F.C. were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Garanhão do SUL's much stronger midfield.
