The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. AEK S.C's Michael Hedström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Cordario in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute Giannis Kousas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Jerold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spams's Roald Lillehagen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pantelis Chatzivelos in the 9 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Buinton got free with Faustino Jerold in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Michael Hedström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Cordario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Emanuel Mouricio fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spams's protests and gave Emanuel Mouricio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Spams was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Mouricio to maneuver through the defense. Faustino Jerold was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Petros Karterouliotis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Spams's Faustino Jerold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petros Karterouliotis in the 20th minute of play. If Emanuel Mouricio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustino Jerold made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vicente Buinton in the 25th minute. 29 minutes into the match, AEK S.C's goal looked a bit too open when Saul Cordario came free, but Michael Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michael Hedström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saul Cordario, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 37th minute, Anıl Cenk Vecih hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petros Karterouliotis hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 40 minutes, Emanuel Mouricio made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. AEK S.C's Michael Hedström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Faustino Jerold made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giannis Kousas in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Spams's zone, Vicente Buinton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustino Jerold came out of the goal and Vicente Buinton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Emanuel Mouricio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spams's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Mouricio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lambros Vouzatos hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Spams's Adrián Guillermo was substituted for Saul Cordario. After a rather tough play, AEK S.C's Lambros Vouzatos got a free kick in the 49th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Vinícius Servaes made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Lambros Vouzatos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Vinícius Servaes could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Michael Hedström however easily saved by the left post. Norman Haiba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustino Jerold having to interfere. A collision led to AEK S.C getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Miltos Kyriazis hit a great ball. Michael Hedström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinícius Servaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinícius Servaes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michael Hedström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Godfredo Galtero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Petros Karterouliotis managed to get in a good position for a shot. AEK S.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Petros Karterouliotis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faustino Jerold breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AEK S.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Vinícius Servaes scored to the left of an out of position Michael Hedström, making the score, 1-2. In the 90th match minute, Spams was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roald Lillehagen to maneuver through the defense. Michael Hedström was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vinícius Servaes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 93 minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Spams's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Buinton came free, but Faustino Jerold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Spams walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
