The audience thought a goal was coming when Geraldo Fernandez got free with Ilie Brumaru in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eriberto Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gheorghe Chițan went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Gernando Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the game, Manuel Neicu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Cosula-BTF-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Engenheiros da Vila the free kick. Geraldo Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aron Mitruț hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Geraldo Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Petru Chirea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Geraldo Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ilie Brumaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geraldo Fernandez in the 30th minute. Basarab Seremet hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. FC Cosula-BTF-'s Ilie Brumaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Mineiro in the 36th minute of play. Wesley Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Brumaru having to interfere. Engenheiros da Vila's Sérgio Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olimpiu Teodorescu in the 47th minute of play forced Engenheiros da Vila's goalkeeper Eriberto Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute of the match FC Cosula-BTF- got a corner. Engenheiros da Vila's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Olimpiu Teodorescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Olimpiu Teodorescu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eriberto Queirós quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when FC Cosula-BTF- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Chirea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geraldo Fernandez made a kick off. Flávio Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Mineiro in the 55th minute of play forced FC Cosula-BTF-'s goalkeeper Ilie Brumaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Sérgio Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Engenheiros da Vila fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Dan Alupulesei's late challenge caught a Engenheiros da Vila's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Alupulesei helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Cosula-BTF-'s Dan Alupulesei got a free kick in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo Fernandez in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilie Brumaru saved FC Cosula-BTF- from getting behind. Sérgio Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Eusébio Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC Cosula-BTF-'s Ilie Brumaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Fernandez in the 76th minute of play. Gernando Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ilie Brumaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Engenheiros da Vila. In the 80th minute, Christiano Ronaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Engenheiros da Vila getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Eusébio Castro hit a great ball. Ilie Brumaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Sarmento in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute Geraldo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Brumaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Cosula-BTF- defense, Sérgio Jacinto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilie Brumaru. The FC Cosula-BTF- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilie Brumaru should have stopped the shot. Engenheiros da Vila's Geraldo Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Engenheiros da Vila had won after a very even match.
