In the 11th minute Carlos Teves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jozef Volders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Guardia Imperial were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Racinguista F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcial Abaunza took the corner. Racinguista F.C's Jozef Volders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Teves in the 20th minute of play. 30 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Racinguista F.C's Eustacio Rosario fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Hernan Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. La Guardia Imperial's Atilano Esiquio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustacio Rosario in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Carlos Teves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Guardia Imperial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Teves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute Francisco Sayveon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jozef Volders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Teves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atilano Esiquio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Carlos Teves managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Guardia Imperial's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Teves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jozef Volders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
