Cayetano Rito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulopolis's Cayetano Rito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Landero in the 15th minute of play. Augusto Landero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Paulopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Kanetos came free, but Cayetano Rito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match ΟΦΗ got a corner. Paulopolis's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nikos Kanetos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led ΟΦΗ's Nikos Kanetos to fire away a dangerous shot which Cayetano Rito despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cayetano Rito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Landero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, ΟΦΗ's Nasos Papadis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cayetano Rito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind ΟΦΗ's goalkeeper Ilias Seichanidis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Agesilaus Kreskas kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Maurício Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ilias Seichanidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikos Kanetos in the 41st minute of play forced Paulopolis's goalkeeper Cayetano Rito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half ΟΦΗ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maurício Motta to strike the kick off in the second half. If Maurício Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulopolis's Cayetano Rito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Paulopolis from getting a goal against them. Luís Paulo Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Augusto Landero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cayetano Rito came out and tried to block the shot, but Augusto Landero slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute, Nikos Kanetos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Landero in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cayetano Rito saved Paulopolis from getting behind. 77 minutes into the match, Paulopolis's goalkeeper Cayetano Rito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Landero. Luís Paulo Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Lambis Talitsikas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Rito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nikos Kanetos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikos Kanetos in the 87th minute of play forced Paulopolis's goalkeeper Cayetano Rito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, ΟΦΗ's Nasos Papadis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cayetano Rito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 91 minutes, Luís Paulo Sabóia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paulopolis and the ΟΦΗ players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Paulopolis getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. In the 95th minute Augusto Landero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Rito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
