Gavino Iratxo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Landero in the 12th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes ΟΦΗ got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Landero. Ilias Seichanidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julianda Saputra, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Nikos Kanetos hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cipriano Llorian in the 24th managed to get into a good position. Augusto Landero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gavino Iratxo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julianda Saputra in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilias Seichanidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute ΟΦΗ were awarded a corner. Nikos Kanetos went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on ΟΦΗ's corner Nikos Kanetos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gavino Iratxo quite easily take care of the ball. When Ciprian Răuțchi fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Espartillar's protests and gave Ciprian Răuțchi a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Real Espartillar got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Răuțchi. Lucio Gitano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nasos Papadis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nasos Papadis got free with Gavino Iratxo in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. ΟΦΗ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oğuzhan Tolun in the 53rd minute. Augusto Landero might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavino Iratxo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Augusto Landero ran back to his position shaking his head. ΟΦΗ's Agesilaus Kreskas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabrizio Capobianco in the 55 minute of the game. 62 minutes into the game, Real Espartillar's Cipriano Llorian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilias Seichanidis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. ΟΦΗ were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Real Espartillar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Oğuzhan Tolun took the corner. Real Espartillar's Albano Garoa was substituted for Fabrizio Capobianco. Real Espartillar's Gavino Iratxo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Landero in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Espartillar's goalkeeper Gavino Iratxo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Augusto Landero came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the ΟΦΗ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Landero couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Landero in the 85th minute of play forced Real Espartillar's goalkeeper Gavino Iratxo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 played minutes Real Espartillar got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Baraquiel. Augusto Landero's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Gavino Iratxo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 92 minutes, Akis Karaoulanis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ΟΦΗ and the Real Espartillar players grew even worse after the yellow card. Akis Karaoulanis kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Renan Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
