The tension between the Quilmes and the De Pelgrims players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 played minutes Quilmes got a freekick which was hit by Dionisio Laurendi. With a little luck, Quilmes's Adan Lartaun got control of the ball when Perivaldo Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 34 played minutes Quilmes got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Nataniel. Adan Lartaun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huub Gerrits, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. De Pelgrims were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Quilmes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fu Peng Feng took the corner. Quilmes's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Lucas Nataniel made in the 64th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ismael Dolcet immediately put the ball in play. If Lucas Nataniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quilmes's Saverio Endira was substituted for Jaromir Ziemniak. Quilmes's Horacio Francis was substituted for Braulio Barrionuevo. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Mike Zoetmulder successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Dolcet in the 74th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Perivaldo Eger in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adan Lartaun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was Horacio Francis who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Quilmes's corner Horacio Francis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mike Zoetmulder quite easily take care of the ball. In the 90th match minute, De Pelgrims was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herman Craandijk to maneuver through the defense. Horacio Francis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Quilmes's Horacio Francis got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The De Pelgrims supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Quilmes's performance. The match ended with a win for Quilmes.
