C.A.Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heigo Luiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryszard Percha in the 89th minute of play forced C.A.Independiente's goalkeeper Ciriaco Macias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to C.A.Independiente getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Øyvind Rovik hit a great ball. Ciriaco Macias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ryszard Percha went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
