Rothwell Park's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. It was a well-played corner which John Kipketer managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Edinho Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Salvino in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute 罗树夕 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Erik Hjortberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 罗树夕 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gremengo FCCMZ's Edinho Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Gremengo FCCMZ from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adolfo Salvino to make the kick off. Per-Erik Hjortberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 罗树夕, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adolfo Salvino struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Rothwell Park's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sammy Keino in the 61st minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Teófilo Vilanova heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 64 minutes of play, Rothwell Park's Adolfo Salvino made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
