After taking down the ball on Paunero's corner Jose Rosario fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rafa Lojewski quite easily take care of the ball. Albino Inguma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Amorebieta, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Paunero's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Amorebieta came free, but Albino Inguma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albino Inguma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albino Inguma came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Go Ahead Eagles's Erling Lewandowski. But to his dismay, Erling Lewandowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Albino Inguma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Amorebieta in the 24th minute of the match. The Paunero fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Paunero's Aristide Iureș looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Bot in the 28th minute of play forced Paunero's goalkeeper Albino Inguma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Paunero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Rosario to maneuver through the defense. Paunero's Albino Inguma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Bot in the 33rd minute of play. Go Ahead Eagles were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Paunero's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cássio Gonçalves took the corner. In the 39th minute Fernando Amorebieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Inguma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Facundo Bot took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albino Inguma. Albino Inguma dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when Paunero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Cilli didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Paunero's Aristide Iureș got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Go Ahead Eagles were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeo Ederono stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Go Ahead Eagles's Rafa Lojewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Ederono in the 54th minute of play. Paunero's Vinicio Palos was substituted for Cristian Peli. In the 58th minute of the match Go Ahead Eagles got a corner. Paunero's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cássio Gonçalves ran over to the corner to take the kick. Albino Inguma made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Erling Lewandowski sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erling Lewandowski in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albino Inguma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th minute, Higinio Ticho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Go Ahead Eagles made a substitution. Manga Mangkudikusumah replaced Panos Kaklamanos. Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru was substituted for Erling Lewandowski. Go Ahead Eagles's Rafa Lojewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristide Iureș in the 69th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Paunero's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Amorebieta came free, but Albino Inguma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Panos Karagoutis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panos Karagoutis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Go Ahead Eagles played a much better game than Paunero and deserved their victory. The Paunero players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
