Adrianus Tambunan made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Valdemar Kuoppala sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the match, Putra Rewulu's goal looked a bit too open when Eero Uusipaavalniemi came free, but Adrianus Tambunan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Manchester United FC defense, Nuriana Limbong kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin van der Sar. The Manchester United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin van der Sar should have stopped the shot. Valdemar Kuoppala could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Adrianus Tambunan made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdemar Kuoppala got free with Adrianus Tambunan in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Ignado in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute Adjat Inzaghi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Ignado, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Adrianus Tambunan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th match minute, Putra Rewulu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Ledesma to maneuver through the defense. Taisto Pentsinen scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adrianus Tambunan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 32 minutes of play, Putra Rewulu's Danilo Ignado made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edwin van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Putra Rewulu booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Laulaja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Putra Rewulu were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Manchester United FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Danilo Ignado took the corner. Iiro Riksman tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Edwin van der Sar. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-3 in the 43rd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when Putra Rewulu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuriana Limbong didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the game, Manchester United FC's Valdemar Kuoppala nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrianus Tambunan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Manchester United FC's Eero Uusipaavalniemi managed to work through Putra Rewulu's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Eero Uusipaavalniemi dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Adrianus Tambunan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute Eero Uusipaavalniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianus Tambunan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eero Uusipaavalniemi took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrianus Tambunan. Adrianus Tambunan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Manchester United FC's Erkki Virta was substituted for Akseli Ilola. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuriana Limbong in the 64th minute of play. If Danilo Ignado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrianus Tambunan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Kuoppala in the 68th minute of play forced Putra Rewulu's goalkeeper Adrianus Tambunan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Ignado in the 71st minute of play. Adrianus Tambunan came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United FC's Eero Uusipaavalniemi. But to his dismay, Eero Uusipaavalniemi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Erik Cantona replaced Taisto Pentsinen. Adrianus Tambunan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Beckham, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Putra Rewulu's goalkeeper Adrianus Tambunan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Manchester United FC's corner Erik Cantona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Adrianus Tambunan quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Cantona in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrianus Tambunan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 83 minutes Putra Rewulu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eero Uusipaavalniemi who took care of the corner kick. Adjat Inzaghi took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edwin van der Sar. Edwin van der Sar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Putra Rewulu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Manchester United FC:s goal. Adrianus Tambunan had in the 92ndth minute some difficulties stopping Eero Uusipaavalniemi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 93rd minute Erik Cantona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianus Tambunan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Putra Rewulu's goal looked a bit too open when Eero Uusipaavalniemi came free, but Adrianus Tambunan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adjat Inzaghi came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th minute, Erik Cantona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adrianus Tambunan was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-4.
