Norbert Balonek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Cambiasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Anibal Cambiasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Faiko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, BAIRES's Anibal Cambiasso got control of the ball when Mark Faiko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Genaro Cambiasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mark Faiko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Cambiasso having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marciano Cambiasso in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norbert Balonek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 36 minutes in the game, Marciano Cambiasso dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. With a little luck, BAIRES's Anibal Cambiasso got control of the ball when Mark Faiko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anibal Cambiasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Bruchon, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The supporters of Goianésia E.C booed when BAIRES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Cambiasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Mathias Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Marciano Cambiasso made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Genaro Cambiasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BAIRES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Cambiasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 54 played minutes BAIRES got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Cambiasso. The supporters of BAIRES booed when Goianésia E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo De Filippo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute of the match, Genaro Cambiasso tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Norbert Balonek saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Marciano Cambiasso came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the BAIRES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marciano Cambiasso couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute, Ubaldo Cambiasso fired a really elegant long shot, but Norbert Balonek threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Genaro Cambiasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Israel Cambiasso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BAIRES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goianésia E.C the free kick. Anibal Cambiasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Bruchon in the 72nd minute of play. If Genaro Cambiasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Cambiasso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Norbert Balonek, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Genaro Cambiasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norbert Balonek was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Genaro Cambiasso in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Balonek saved Goianésia E.C from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Bruchon in the 87th minute of play forced BAIRES's goalkeeper Anibal Cambiasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, BAIRES's Norbert Balonek threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Genaro Cambiasso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mark Faiko scored 1-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anibal Cambiasso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
