The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michel Neves in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evaristo Neves saved Lupere FC - DMZ from getting behind. In the 7th minute, Edu Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Lupere FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Neves came free, but Evaristo Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Stuart Legzdins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nonatos United's João Vítor Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Evaristo Neves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michel Neves went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Evaristo Neves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Klaas Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink in the 20th minute. After 22 played minutes Lupere FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Monteiro. 23 minutes into the match, Nonatos United's Cengizhan Kaan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evaristo Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute Stuart Legzdins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nonatos United were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Lupere FC - DMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cengizhan Kaan took the corner. After 37 played minutes Nonatos United got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Lopes. Nonatos United's João Vítor Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Legzdins in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Legzdins in the 39th minute of play forced Nonatos United's goalkeeper João Vítor Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Stuart Legzdins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Vítor Arósio. Nonatos United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stuart Legzdins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Klaas Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink to strike the kick off in the second half. Michel Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evaristo Neves having to make a save. 57 minutes into the match, Lupere FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Neves came free, but Evaristo Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lupere FC - DMZ's Evaristo Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaas Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink in the 69th minute of play. Prospero Arevalo hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Lupere FC - DMZ made a substitution. Eduardo Paraense replaced Vito da Silveira. After a rather tough play, Nonatos United's Prospero Arevalo got a free kick in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stuart Legzdins got free with João Vítor Arósio in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lupere FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Evaristo Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Nonatos United booed when Lupere FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evaristo Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Neves in the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to Nonatos United getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Klaas Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink hit a great ball. Sermet Tacal might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Vítor Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sermet Tacal ran back to his position shaking his head. João Vítor Arósio made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Stuart Legzdins sent off a good shot on target. Evaristo Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Neves in the 89th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Michel Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evaristo Neves. Lupere FC - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michel Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The Lupere FC - DMZ players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Nonatos United from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
