An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Legzdins in the 29th minute of play forced Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's goalkeeper Karl Martin Bell Burnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's Evaristo Neves threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lisandro Beltxe, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 44th minute Alan das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evaristo Neves came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's Lisandro Beltxe. But to his dismay, Lisandro Beltxe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gernando Pernambucano was the one to do the kick off. Sermet Tacal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Martin Bell Burnell having to interfere.
