Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thomas Vollmar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfons Lövgren having to interfere. Alfons Lövgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pankracy Malicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Bahrtys Talanger's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Pacholewski came free, but Alfons Lövgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes in the game Zé Paulo Zonta did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Kajetan Kochniarczyk. Thanks to some nice moves Pankracy Malicki could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Alfons Lövgren however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Silva in the 26th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikolaj Jerzyk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Alfons Lövgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Pacholewski in the 39th minute. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Thomas Vollmar sped through Bahrtys Talanger's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfons Lövgren. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabian Hermansson was the one to do the kick off. In the 96th minute of the match Zé Paulo Zonta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfons Lövgren skillfully saved the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Newcastle United had played much better football throughout.
