Eric Soned showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Chico, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 27th minute, Elias Chico made a precise shot to the right of Eric Soned. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. BloodHounds F.C.'s Astor Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Vladimir Capixaba hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Queiroz came free, but Eric Soned reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Nickolai Nickerson made the kick off in the second half. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Per-Arne Gunnarsson was substituted for Rei Bolas. BloodHounds F.C.'s Alfonso Jacindo was substituted for Anak Agung Štriker. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel made a substitution. Carlo Ancelotti replaced Morgan Möllgren. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Fabrício Rivarola quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Toto Ciupitu, made in the 64th minute of the game.
