In the 4th minute, Mamutes EC's Dave Panno ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicodemo Recalde. Nicodemo Recalde yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Nicodemo Recalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Panno in the 7th minute of play. After 8 minutes of play, Mamutes EC's Valério Meireles made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicodemo Recalde was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Xacobo Barroso in the 13th minute of play forced Mamutes EC's goalkeeper Magno Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valério Meireles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Nicodemo Recalde made a huge save. 18 minutes into the game, Valério Meireles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nicodemo Recalde. Valério Meireles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 27th minute of the match Moisés Bueno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicodemo Recalde skillfully saved the ball. In the 30th minute Dave Panno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodemo Recalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mamutes EC booed when VILLANUEVA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xacobo Barroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute Dave Panno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodemo Recalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Panno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 66th minute Valério Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodemo Recalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tor Svensson in the 67th minute of play forced VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicodemo Recalde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Väino Kartul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tor Svensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodemo Recalde having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Mamutes EC's Valério Meireles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicodemo Recalde made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Xacobo Barroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 81 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Väino Kartul came free, but Nicodemo Recalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Valério Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mamutes EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valério Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mamutes EC's Valdo Dantas was substituted for Dave Panno. Mamutes EC's Tor Svensson got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute Valdo Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodemo Recalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes, Valdo Dantas made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 92 played minutes VILLANUEVA FC got a freekick which was hit by Germán Seisdedos. 96 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valério Meireles came free, but Nicodemo Recalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
