After 19 minutes Keep Walking Project's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Xacobo Barroso who took care of the corner kick. Nicodemo Recalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 28th minute of play. Nicodemo Recalde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Maghiran in the 29th minute of the match. Nicodemo Recalde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Kořán, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hafız Öztekin. 35 minutes into the game, Marian Maghiran recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nicodemo Recalde. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lionel-Andrés Messi was the one to do the kick off. In the 58thth minute of the game Galo van Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xalvador Mac Kenney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Keep Walking Project's Marian Maghiran got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lionel-Andrés Messi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lionel-Andrés Messi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicodemo Recalde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. The VILLANUEVA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicodemo Recalde should have stopped the shot.
