But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mao Fan Kun couldn't finish the play. The Bierunese players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. F-E-D-A were winning 0-1.

The F-E-D-A fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Korneliusz Dzierwa should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Recep Talha Hüsrev got free with Werner Kamps in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The F-E-D-A supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing F-E-D-A would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
