An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Zaldua in the 7th minute of play forced Ekzema F.V.'s goalkeeper Ximenez Cayuso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind G A I S's goalkeeper Staffan Eckegren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 9th minute Rafael Zaldua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenez Cayuso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute of the match G A I S got a corner. Ekzema F.V.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cléber Marinho ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lisandro Piearres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, G A I S's Staffan Eckegren got control of the ball when Lisandro Piearres tried to sneak it across the goal line. Staffan Eckegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Piearres in the 20th minute of play. Cléber Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Lisandro Piearres made a precise shot to the right of Staffan Eckegren. G A I S's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After taking down the ball on G A I S's corner Cléber Marinho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ximenez Cayuso quite easily take care of the ball. Ekzema F.V.'s Ximenez Cayuso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Marinho in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute Cléber Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenez Cayuso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ekzema F.V. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vitório Moreno hit a great ball. After 44 played minutes Ekzema F.V. got a freekick which was hit by Arí Cestarolli. In the 46th match minute, G A I S was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Jernberg to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Ekzema F.V. made a substitution. Luisinho Toscano replaced Vitório Moreno. The wind increased when Timoteo Estevez made the kick off in the second half. Norman Mabalane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ximenez Cayuso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Timoteo Estevez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Staffan Eckegren was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 61 minutes of play, Ekzema F.V.'s Timoteo Estevez made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Staffan Eckegren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ty Scholes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 64 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of G A I S:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ekzema F.V.:s goal. Cléber Marinho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-2 to the left of a surprised Ximenez Cayuso 69 minutes into the match. Staffan Eckegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Estevez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ximenez Cayuso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Mabalane in the 78th minute of the match. Timoteo Estevez struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Staffan Eckegren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ekzema F.V.. After some careless play in the G A I S defense, Timoteo Estevez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Staffan Eckegren. The G A I S fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Staffan Eckegren should have stopped the shot. Norman Mabalane's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Ximenez Cayuso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 93rd minute Timoteo Estevez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Staffan Eckegren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Ekzema F.V.'s Ximenez Cayuso got control of the ball when Norman Mabalane tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Cléber Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ximenez Cayuso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman Mabalane's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Ekzema F.V.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
