In the 19th minute Cornel Ulici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoffel Portmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Puttemans in the 22nd minute of play forced SK Dreigoten's goalkeeper Christoffel Portmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christoffel Portmans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steven Puttemans's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Connor Osmond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Steven Puttemans sped through SK Dreigoten's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christoffel Portmans. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steven Puttemans in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christoffel Portmans saved SK Dreigoten from getting behind. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Rudy Vandendriessche put in a rough tackle. The goalkeeper, Christoffel Portmans, was totally fooled by SK Mons's Steven Puttemans, who 47 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Steven Puttemans to make the kick off. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SK Mons reached it. Yanniek Verhaert kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Connor Osmond stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michael Wirinckx's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Puttemans in the 78th minute of play forced SK Dreigoten's goalkeeper Christoffel Portmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christoffel Portmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Puttemans in the 81st minute of play. Nickolas Wittemans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connor Osmond having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's goal looked a bit too open when Trevor Eubank came free, but Christoffel Portmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the SK Dreigoten defense, Steven Puttemans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christoffel Portmans. The SK Dreigoten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christoffel Portmans should have stopped the shot.
