An unexpectedly hard shot by Mac Mon in the 30th minute of play forced FC LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper Tommy Thompson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Mac Mon notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FC LIVERPOOL's Tommy Thompson. Tommy Thompson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavies Muñagorri in the 41st minute of the match. Tommy Thompson came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Bruges's Ken Brogren. But to his dismay, Ken Brogren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. With a little luck, FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael got control of the ball when Atak Ferdi tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC LIVERPOOL's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Big Fe in the 48th minute. After taking down the ball on FC LIVERPOOL's corner Big Fe fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luc Van Hinnendael quite easily take care of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Atak Ferdi was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes FC Bruges got a freekick which was hit by Philip Verhasselt. In the 56th minute of the match Vlastimir Jovanović shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luc Van Hinnendael showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of FC LIVERPOOL booed when FC Bruges was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shane Corrigan didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC LIVERPOOL made a substitution. Wilfredo Eneko replaced Jamal Higgins. Shane Corrigan kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Xavies Muñagorri scored 0-6 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Thompson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tommy Thompson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ken Brogren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 89 minute of play.
