The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verbano FC's Attilio Marzoli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Verbano FC from getting a goal against them. Winners were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Verbano FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Szymon Sochacki took the corner. The corner led Winners's 罗笑永 to fire away a dangerous shot which Attilio Marzoli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Janek Koller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Winners defense, Martyon Brading kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elpidio Quinton. The Winners fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elpidio Quinton should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Verbano FC booed when Winners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Janek Koller didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th match minute, Verbano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otto Grunt to maneuver through the defense. The Winners players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Verbano FC were winning 0-2.

Florian Cavallaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elpidio Quinton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florian Cavallaro ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enéas Bertassi during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
