Manny Gol succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 81st playminute. SSC Napoli's Clark Reuterwall got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sakarias Bocklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrice Lambolez in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Perthes United's Hercule Basque sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sakarias Bocklund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Armand Mondon's late challenge caught a SSC Napoli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
