In the 40th minute Edu Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christophe Pourre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Calopsita EC booed when Rakkestad IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrzej Dobrowski didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Semih Şentürk to make the kick off.
