Lilywhites's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 62 played minutes Lilywhites got a freekick which was hit by Cristoforo Ranieri. Virgílio Bezerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ercole Faiella read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Edgard Calisto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ercole Faiella took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Lilywhites's zone, Luciano Urtungo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ercole Faiella came out of the goal and Luciano Urtungo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lilywhites players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Estudiantes de la Plata.
