Jailson Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santino Mora having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilmar Couto got free with Santino Mora in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Club Deportivo Santiago booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juvenal Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santino Mora stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilmar Couto's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Zeru Mendana kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Macías Camazon made in the 27th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jairo Adames. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal Camargo in the 29th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Santino Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Juvenal Camargo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santino Mora was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Botafogo MZRJ's Isaltino Gomes was substituted for Gilvan Falcão. Jairo Adames made in the 72nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Evelio Terres however managed to control. In the 74thth minute of the game Gilmar Couto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportivo Santiago's Santino Mora was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Couto in the 78th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Santino Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Deportivo Santiago's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Álvaro Melo was slow to take the kick. During this time Botafogo MZRJ's players had a chance to rest. Botafogo MZRJ were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Club Deportivo Santiago for a fine match.
