A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian Oterino in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeronimo Millan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabian Oterino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeronimo Millan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The corner led Atlético Grau Piura's Federico Moura to fire away a dangerous shot which Jeronimo Millan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jeronimo Millan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian Oterino's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervasio Chano in the 47th minute of play forced Atlético Grau Piura's goalkeeper Tartalo Delatorre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Garaona got free with Tartalo Delatorre in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Terje Sundberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
