The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Işıkalp Özbey kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Leif Billock took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benny Stolpe. C.A. Boca Juniors's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Aldo Rito sped through Ronnys Lärjungar's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ove Trillkott. Placido Enetz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ove Trillkott having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Ronnys Lärjungar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kåre Mattsson to maneuver through the defense. Ove Trillkott didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aldo Rito went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. C.A. Boca Juniors's Benny Stolpe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the match, Ronnys Lärjungar's Ronny Skott sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benny Stolpe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Ronnys Lärjungar's goal looked a bit too open when Cesar Garcia came free, but Ove Trillkott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cesar Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ove Trillkott was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 25th minute Ronny Skott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benny Stolpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Ronnys Lärjungar got a freekick which was hit by Leif Billock. Aldo Rito took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ove Trillkott. If Cesar Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benny Stolpe made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Wiktor Löfkvist sent off a good shot on target. Javier Ospin took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ove Trillkott. Ove Trillkott dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Benny Stolpe made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Ronny Skott sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aldo Rito to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kåre Mattsson during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Aldo Rito hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesar Garcia in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ove Trillkott prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aldo Rito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Ove Trillkott made a huge save. Orvar Glanselius hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Javier Ospin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Ove Trillkott managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when C.A. Boca Juniors's Aldo Rito fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The corner led C.A. Boca Juniors's Aldo Rito to fire away a dangerous shot which Ove Trillkott despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cesar Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 80 played minutes Ronnys Lärjungar got a freekick which was hit by Orvar Glanselius. Ronnys Lärjungar's Ove Trillkott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Ronnys Lärjungar from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the game, Leif Billock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ronnys Lärjungar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. Boca Juniors the free kick. Ove Trillkott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aldo Rito in the 89th minute. Kåre Mattsson hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Cesar Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The C.A. Boca Juniors supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C.A. Boca Juniors would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
