Sebastián Sosa came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Velez Sarsfield's Javier Pinola. But to his dismay, Javier Pinola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Augusto Cordario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastián Sosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Cordario in the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Velez Sarsfield were awarded a corner. Ignacio Berenguer went to the cornerflag to take it. Augusto Cordario took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastián Sosa. Sebastián Sosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Velez Sarsfield from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the match, FC Inter Sibiu's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Cordario came free, but Sebastián Sosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 minutes, Ivan Moșanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Inter Sibiu and the Velez Sarsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Inter Sibiu getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ivan Moșanu hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Augusto Cordario made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Velez Sarsfield's Ronan Mistral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastián Sosa. That made the score 1-3 after 51 minutes of play. 61 minutes into the match, FC Inter Sibiu's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Cordario. A throw-in in the 65th minute of the game was made by Frank Melis with Ivan Moșanu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Teodosio Sergi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen in the 66th minute of the match. After 67 minutes of play, FC Inter Sibiu's Lucrețiu Hrib made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodosio Sergi was left in no man's land by his defense there! 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Inter Sibiu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Augusto Cordario was slow to take the kick. During this time Velez Sarsfield's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen in the 79th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teodosio Sergi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd match minute, FC Inter Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gică Costandache to maneuver through the defense. Velez Sarsfield's Filomeno Montrell was substituted for Javier Pinola. Gică Costandache kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Filomeno Montrell, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen in the 86th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teodosio Sergi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Inter Sibiu's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Inter Sibiu's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Augusto Cordario scored to the left of an out of position Sebastián Sosa, making the score, 2-4.
