In the 4th minute Jean-François Lajus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Charles Sauvaget saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Bocage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Philippe Contal, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Rousselet in the 9th minute of play forced AC Cristal's goalkeeper Elias Bocage to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Greg Lequesne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Adil Albrecht took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Elias Bocage to make any attempt to save it. Cellule's Jean-Charles Sauvaget played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-François Lajus in the 21st minute of play. Flavian Douet kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cellule defense, Greg Lequesne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jean-Charles Sauvaget. The Cellule fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jean-Charles Sauvaget should have stopped the shot. Jean-Charles Sauvaget made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Marc Taillefer in the 31st minute of play. Oscar Goupil hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Jean-Charles Sauvaget took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Greg Lequesne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AC Cristal's Greg Lequesne got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Charles Sauvaget made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Greg Lequesne in the 55th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Cellule's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-François Lajus came free, but Jean-Charles Sauvaget reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Oscar Goupil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AC Cristal's Jean-Marc Taillefer got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Marc Taillefer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Charles Sauvaget read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Jean-Charles Sauvaget showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greg Lequesne in the 71st minute of the match. Jean-Charles Sauvaget was a little too slow when Greg Lequesne got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 3-2. 77 minutes into the match, Cellule's goalkeeper Jean-Charles Sauvaget had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean-Marc Taillefer. Jean-François Lajus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Greg Lequesne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean-Charles Sauvaget. Cellule's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Greg Lequesne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. A collision led to AC Cristal getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Roland Graziani hit a great ball. When Jean-Philippe Contal fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cellule's protests and gave Jean-Philippe Contal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute Greg Lequesne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Charles Sauvaget saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 96 minutes, Jean-François Lajus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Cristal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean-François Lajus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
