The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-8.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabrice Gamet to strike the kick off in the second half. Philippe Legrand charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 76th minute Cyrille Jenny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Pascal Weiss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Jean-Pascal Weiss throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cyrille Jenny in the 77thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Cyrille Jenny put it in 0-12 from a short distance just to the right of Jean-Pascal Weiss. When the match was over Tours Football Club could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than gipsy kings throughout the match.
