In the 18th minute Jean-Marc Taillefer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Pascal Weiss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the gipsy kings defense, Greg Lequesne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jean-Pascal Weiss. The gipsy kings fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jean-Pascal Weiss should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luc Cassagne during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 29 minutes into the match, gipsy kings's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-François Lajus came free, but Jean-Pascal Weiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jean-Pascal Weiss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greg Lequesne, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Jean-François Lajus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabrice Gamet was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, AC Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Grégoire Lamouroux came free, but Elias Bocage reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored gipsy kings's protests and gave Fabrice Gamet a yellow card for diving instead. Fabrice Gamet hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, Greg Lequesne notched a goal, 1-8, to the right of gipsy kings's Jean-Pascal Weiss. Jean-Pascal Weiss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, gipsy kings's Jean-Pascal Weiss got control of the ball when Jean-Marc Taillefer tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of AC Cristal booed when gipsy kings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Jardel didn't get a good kick on the ball. AC Cristal's Robert Bardin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for gipsy kings. AC Cristal played a much better game than gipsy kings and deserved their victory. The gipsy kings players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
