The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 minutes of play, Elegance Dijon's Fabien Cantin made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Danny Arpin was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Stéphane Gaudy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stéphane Gaudy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Montagnole FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Batiste Lavandier hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Christian Minaud took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Danny Arpin to make any attempt to save it. Fabien Cantin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute Christian Minaud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Arpin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eddy Brayer kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Dave Rinaldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batiste Lavandier in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Stéphane Gaudy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danny Arpin was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

Thierry Agnel might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danny Arpin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thierry Agnel ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabien Cantin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute, Batiste Lavandier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danny Arpin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Minaud, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Gilles Baur made in the 68th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Christian Minaud immediately put the ball in play. Montagnole FC's Danny Arpin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabien Cantin in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Christian Minaud left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elegance Dijon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Christian Minaud scored 9-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Danny Arpin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 75 played minutes Montagnole FC got a freekick which was hit by Anatole Fichot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabien Cantin in the 77th minute of play forced Montagnole FC's goalkeeper Danny Arpin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elegance Dijon's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stéphane Gaudy in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Christian Minaud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elegance Dijon's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Minaud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danny Arpin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Fabien Cantin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Danny Arpin was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. 93 minutes into the game, Fabien Cantin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Danny Arpin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that Elegance Dijon were the better team. Elegance Dijon's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
